The Costa Blanca is the coastline of the province of Alicante, in the Comunitat Valenciana (the Valencia region). It runs from Dénia in the north to Pilar de la Horadada on the border with Murcia. There is no official line between North and South; the usual split is at the city of Alicante, and that is the split we use. Our selection covers 26 municipalities, all listed in the table below.

Costa Blanca North
The Marina Alta and Marina Baixa districts: Dénia, Xàbia/Jávea, Teulada (Moraira), Calp, Altea, l'Alfàs del Pi, Benidorm, Finestrat and La Vila Joiosa. Costa Blanca South
South of Alicante, the coast of the Baix Vinalopó and the Vega Baja del Segura: Santa Pola, Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Pilar de la Horadada, plus nearby inland towns such as Rojales and Algorfa. The land is flat, with the salt lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja, a natural park. The whole coast is served by Alicante-Elche airport and the AP-7 motorway; the TRAM d'Alacant light rail links Alicante with Benidorm.
