Most people who move to the province of Málaga settle on the Costa del Sol: the city of Málaga, the towns to the west such as Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella and Estepona, and the Axarquía to the east, with Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga and Nerja. Behind the coast the province turns into mountains and farmland, with towns such as Alhaurín de la Torre, Cártama, Coín, Antequera and Ronda, where winters are generally cooler than on the coast.
