Living in the province of Alicante
The province of Alicante is two places in one. Its coast is the Costa Blanca: from Dénia and Xàbia in the north, past Calp, Altea and Benidorm, to the city of Alicante, and then south to Santa Pola, Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada. Inland lie Elche, the second-largest city of the province, and the industrial towns of the Vinalopó valley and l'Alcoià, such as Elda, Petrer, Villena and Alcoy. The coast draws most foreign buyers; the inland towns are where many local families live. The table below puts the same figures side by side for each of them.
